Set up a PizzaBot tablet.
One download turns a Windows tablet into a dedicated store kiosk. It takes about ten minutes, most of which is waiting. Tablets ordered from PizzaBot arrive already set up, so you can skip this page.
Download this on the tablet itself, not on your office computer.
Windows will warn you about this file
PizzaBot Setup is not yet signed with a certificate, so Windows shows a blue “Windows protected your PC” screen. Tap More info, then Run anyway. This is expected and it is the only extra step.
Before you start
A Windows 11 tablet
Ten inches or larger, plugged into power. Any current model from a mainstream brand works.
The store’s private Wi-Fi
The name and password for the private network, not the guest network.
A phone signed in to the console
Signed in to app.pizzabot.io as an owner or manager, with the store already added and Preppy turned on for it. You will need it to pair the tablet.

Four steps
Get through Windows setup
Turn the tablet on and follow the Windows prompts, using the store’s private Wi-Fi. Sign in with a Microsoft account when it asks, because Windows insists. A free one is fine and PizzaBot never uses it. You are done with this step when the desktop appears.
If the tablet came in S mode, the installer will not open, because S mode only allows apps from the Microsoft Store. Leaving S mode is free and takes a minute. Open Settings, then System, then Activation, then “Switch to Windows 11 Home”, then “Go to the Store” and tap Get. This is one-way and it is what you want.Install PizzaBot
On the tablet, open Edge and come back to this page. Tap Download above, open the file from the Downloads bar, and get past the warning as described. Tap Yes when Windows asks to allow it.
Leave Preppy and “Set this tablet up as a dedicated PizzaBot kiosk” checked and tap Install.
Want to keep the tablet as a normal Windows device, with your own account and desktop? Untick the kiosk box and leave “Start the app automatically when Windows starts” ticked. Preppy then opens by itself whenever someone signs in.
Pair it to your store
A six-character code fills the screen. On your phone, openapp.pizzabot.io/pair, enter that code, and pick the store. The tablet notices within a few seconds, downloads Preppy, and carries on by itself. The code lasts ten minutes; tap New code if it runs out.
When Setup says it is done, leave “Restart now” checked and tap Finish. After the restart the tablet signs itself in and opens Preppy, already connected to your store.
The store has to exist first. Pairing only works for a store that is on your PizzaBot account with Preppy turned on for it, on the Stores page. If the screen says the Wi-Fi needs a sign-in, open Edge, get through the Wi-Fi sign-in page, and tap Try again.Plug in the printer
Connect the Zebra printer by USB and turn it on. Preppy finds it by itself. If no test label prints within a minute, open Settings, then Printer, in Preppy and tap Scan.
Good to know
- The tablet now turns on straight into Preppy, never sleeps, and will not restart itself for Windows updates. Leave it plugged in.
- Updates to Preppy install by themselves overnight. Nobody has to do anything.
- To reach the normal Windows desktop, for example to change the Wi-Fi, press Ctrl+Alt+Del, choose Sign out, then sign in with the account you created in step 1. Restart the tablet to go back.
- To remove everything, sign in with your own account and uninstall PizzaBot from Settings, then Apps. The kiosk account is removed with it.
